Lion’s share

pull the rug out from under someone

2014-08-07 호에 다룬  throw someone under the bus 기억나는가?
pull the rug out from under someone
  • [Definition] To suddenly remove support from someone;  abruptly withdraw support from (someone).
* rug: 카펫, 깔개

1. throw someone under the bus 가 안좋은 것에 “밀쳐넣는” , 즉 push 하는 느낌이라면, pull the rug out from under someone 는 좋은것을 “뺏는”,  pull하는 느낌이다.

2. pull the rug out from under us
( pull out : 빼내다) + (from: ~ 부터 )  + (under us: 우리의 밑에서 )

take on a life of its own
